Syndicate Bank, a Premier Nationalised Bank, invites applications from Indian citizens for recruitment of DEFENCE BANKING ADVISORS.

` 20 lacs on CTC basis. The approximate CTC payable after deducting the pension drawn by them will be ` 12 lacs p.a.

Essential Qualification:

Major General /Brigadier or equivalent rank in Navy /Air force or above.
Post Code: 2
Colonel or equivalent rank in Navy / Air force or below.

Period of contract: The period of contract is initially for one year and will be further extended if their services are found to be productive.

Job Profile: They shall primarily be expected to popularize and market products among the Defence personnel, coordinating with various functionaries for expanding Bank share under their segment. They shall act as one point contact for redressal of grievances related to Defence Personnel.

Selection Procedure:  The selection will be made on the basis of performance in the interview. Mere satisfying the eligibility criteria do not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The Bank reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for interview after preliminary screening / shortlisting with reference to the candidate’s qualification, experience and suitability.
Non- Refundable Application Fee: For SC/ST candidates ` 50/- (postage) only. For others ` 300/- (includes fee + postage).

Payment of Fee: Application Fees should be paid only by Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank favouring SYNDICATE BANK RECRUITMENT OF DEFENCE BANKING ADVISORS - 2010” payable at ‘Udupi’.  Demand Draft should be enclosed along with the application form.
Submission of Application: Eligible candidates have to submit their applications in the given format (Annexure A). Last date for receipt of application is 15.01.2011. No applications shall be entertained beyond the stipulated date. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Completed application along with the prescribed fee shall be sent in a cover superscribed "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DEFENCE BANKING ADVISOR" addressed to "Syndicate Bank PD:HRDD, HEAD OFFICE:  Manipal-576104, " to reach latest by 15.01.2011 Application from candidates staying abroad or in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands and other notified remote Regions (Far-flung areas) should reach latest by 22.01.2011.


a) While applying for the posts, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfills the    eligibility and other norms mentioned above and that the particulars furnished are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his / her candidature will automatically stand cancelled. If any of the above shortcoming(s) is / are detected even after appointment, his / her services are liable to be terminated without any notice.

b) In case of suitable and deserving cases, any of the requirements and conditions of    eligibility mentioned above, may be relaxed at the discretion of the Management. The Management reserves the right to fill or not to fill the above advertised position without assigning any reason thereof.

c) Mere submission of application against the advertisement and apparently fulfilling the criteria as prescribed in the advertisement would not bestow on him / her right to be called for interview.

d) Candidates serving in Government/Public Sector Undertakings (including banks) should send their application through proper channel and produce a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of interview, in the absence of which their Candidature may not be considered.

e)  The Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for future examination / selection.

f)   Applications which are incomplete in any respect will be rejected and the fee will be forfeited.

The decision of the Bank in respect of all matters relating to this recruitment would be final and binding on all candidates.  The Court in Udupi will have jurisdiction in all matters regarding this recruitment
